Mountains Move
Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ, Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7 NLT)
My beloved child be careful- for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. (Philippians 4:6 KJV) The Word supplication in the Greek represents someone who has some type of lack in his life; therefore, pleads strongly for his need to be met. It also means beseech, to beg or earnestly appeal. This person pushes their pride aside, so he can boldly, sincerely, powerfully, and passionately cry out for God to help him. One of the most powerful examples of this Word is in: (James 5:16 NLT) ‘Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.’
Supplication indicates the one coming to God facing a problem that deeply concerns Him. So, when you are facing a challenging problem, don’t be afraid to come to the Lord. Humbly and earnestly beseech/ask Him to meet your need. Paul’s use of this Word was; ‘you get very bold when you are asking God to move mountains out of your way.’ There is no reason to be timid, or mealy-mouthed when you pray. Praying with boldness is what supplication is all about. So, go ahead and make your petitions known to God the Father and see what He will do for you.
This scripture was written for the person who is heavy weighted – carrying their own problems. Come to Me all you who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest. I created everything to work easy and pleasurable. “Come to Me, all you who are weary and carrying a heavy burden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30 NLT) Go to God with what you need and let your Faith be bigger than your fears!
