Are You a Friend of God?
My beloved child I long to call you My friend as I did Moses. While traveling, it was Moses’ practice to take the Tent of Meeting and set it up some distance from the camp. Everyone who wanted to make a request of the Lord would go to the Tent of Meeting outside the camp. Whenever Moses went out to the Tent of Meeting, all the people would get up and stand in the entrances of their own tents. They would all watch Moses until he disappeared inside. As he went into the tent, the pillar of cloud would come down and hover at its entrance while the Lord spoke with Moses. When the people saw the cloud standing at the entrance of the tent, they would stand and bow down in front of their own tents. Inside the Tent of Meeting, the Lord would speak to Moses’ face to face, as one speaks to a friend. (Exodus 33:7-11) What do you call Me? The word friend here means ‘intimate companion.’ A friend is always loyal, and brother is born to help in a time of need. (Proverbs 17:17)
I long for you to know Me so well that you call Me friend and I call you friend. Why? Because a friend always loves you, and they will lay their life down for you. (John 15:13-15) I do not want you to just know about Me – it is my deepest desire for you to know Me as your friend. If you will come close to Me, I will come close to you. (James 4:8) You become friends with someone by spending time with each other, getting to know each other intimately and it is the same with Me. We become friends when you spend time in worship, talking to Me, connecting with Me in the Spirit, praising and thanking Me, recognizing My presence and expressing your love to Me that’s how we become friends. Abraham was My friend and he trusted Me. He walked with me and believed Me and he as counted as righteous. (James 2:23)
I am waiting for you to come, talk to Me about what is heavy on your heart. Tell Me about your greatest joy! Talk to Me about anything, I am waiting eagerly to hear your voice! When you do – you will trust Me with all your heart just like Abraham and Moses and you will call Me friend. I know what is best for you and your family, Trust Me I will provide everything you need says the Lord.
