Rejection!
This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testing’s we do, yet he did not sin.
(Hebrews 4:15 NLT)
My beloved child, have you been rejected? I (Jesus) was denied by those closest to Me on the way to the cross. I was despised and rejected- a man of sorrows, acquainted with the most profound grief. You turned your backs on Me and looked the other way. I was despised, and you did not care. (Isaiah 53:3 NLT) I am acquainted with your grief and sorrows, and the feelings of your illnesses touch me, I don’t cause disease. I desire to heal you. It is possible to defeat rejection by the power of the Word of God and time in My presence. Rejection is a thief and a liar; it can influence your decision, change your personality and always blames someone else. Someone with a spirit of rejection has a hard time looking you in the eyes. It’s rooted in fear and fear is crippling. If you live a fearful life or have a fear of death, fear of judgement – you are not fully formed in love. It’s your armor and rules you until you get rid of it and renew your mind with the Scriptures.
When love is fully given, it will break the power of the spirit of rejection and an unloving spirit will melt before your eyes. Many years ago, I was hosting a retreat where a woman was there, and it appeared she was hard. Her walls were up, she had been rejected and wounded repeatedly. She even confidently confessed the night before that she had not cried for eleven years. I thought wow! During worship the Holy Spirit said, ‘I want you to go to her, wrap your arms around her and allow My love to flow through you to her and do not say a word! I obeyed! After a few minutes when she began to feel real Love, she began to weep! The Holy Spirit melted her heart before our eyes! The greatest of all is love. (1 Corinthians 13:1-7)
God knew you before you were knitted together in your mothers’ womb. (Jeremiah 1:5) He does not reject you. You are fearfully and wonderfully made, He made all the delicate, inner parts of your body and knit you together your mother’s womb. Thank Him for making you so wonderfully complex! His workmanship is marvelous-how well you know it. He watched you as you were being formed in utter seclusion, as you were woven together in the dark of the womb. He saw you before you were born. Every day of your life is recorded in His book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. How precious are God’s thoughts about you! They cannot be numbered! You can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! Also, when you wake up, He is still with you! (Psalms 139:13-18) You don’t have to fabricate to hide your pain. If you believe you must measure up to someone else, that is a lie from the devil, deception, and unbelief. You are the beloved of God. It takes all the pressure off when you know you do not have to measure up to someone or please a man.
A form of idolatry and pride are at the root of rejection, it sets man in the position as your god, making God a liar. It is written, “thou shalt have no other gods before Me.” Rejection is a form of unbelief – it says you’re not accepted and loved by God or man. What then shall you say to these things? If God is for you, who can be against you? (Romans 8:31 NKJV) Rejection is a liar! When your defenses are down, you can be pierced, wounded and scarred that is why it is essential to guard your heart. Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life. (Proverbs 4:23) You are a child of the Most-High God! Don’t try to win the approval of people, but of God. If pleasing people is your goal, you would not be Christ’s servant. (Galatians 1:10) When you try to please people, it will wear you out, and you will fail every time. The only person you can delight is the Lord your God, Jehovah God Almighty is His name.
