Don’t Look in the Rearview Mirror
My child, you may have had a tough start, but you don’t have to have a tough finish. Though you may have started with little, you will end with much. If you will seek Me the Lord your God earnestly, if you are pure and upright, even now I will rouse Myself on your behalf and restore you to your prosperous state. Your beginnings may seem humble, but your future will be prosperous. (Job 8:5-7) If any man is in Christ, He is a new creature, old things have passed away, and behold all things have become new. (2 Corinthians 5:17) Forgive yourself for the mistakes you have made. That’s right! The moment you repented, I buried your sins in the sea of forgetfulness as far as the east is from the west and I will not remember them again, so you must forget the past. (1 John 1:9, Psalms 103:12) No longer will you feel shame and guilt because of the past because you have been redeemed from the past. Redeem in Greek means to reclaim, to buy out, to forgive. You are forgiven, so it’s time to forgive yourself for missing the mark! Sin means to miss the mark! I take the biggest messes and turn them into my greatest messengers. Don’t look back and don’t dwell on the past! You’re not going that way! Remember what happened to Lot’s wife for looking back at the past? She looked back and became a pillar of salt. (Genesis 19:26)
I am calling you to move forward into the future I designed for you before the foundations of the earth. For I the Lord your God chose you before the foundation of the world to be holy and blameless in My presence. In love, I predestined you for adoption as My sons through Jesus Christ, according to the good pleasure of My will to the praise of My glorious grace which I have freely given you in the beloved One. In Him, you have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of your trespasses, according to the riches of His grace that He lavished on you with all wisdom and understanding. He chose you as His very own! (Ephesians 1:4-11) Stay future-focused and keep your eyes on Me and I will direct your steps and stops. The glory of this present house will be greater than the glory of the former, says the Lord and I will give you peace. (Haggai 2:9) Your beginnings may seem humble however you will prosper in the future. (I am doing a new thing do you not perceive it and know it! (Isaiah 43:19) Your latter days shall be greater than your former days. (Isaiah 55:1)
Prayer for Today:
Father God, thank You for my past, the successes and victories as well as the mistakes and failures. Thank You for using the past to prepare me for the future and for the greater things You have planned for me. I praise you that You work all things out for the good and your glory to them that love You and those who are called according to Your purposes. (Romans 8:28) I believe healing belongs to me and I declare I am no longer ashamed of my past; I am free of guilt and greater opportunities are on their way in the all-powerful name of Jesus. Amen.
