Will You Agree with God?
Beloved child of God, I ask you do you judge others? Our first response is no, I don’t judge, but watch yourself over the next week and pay attention to how many times you form a judgement of others. I once took a class and the instructor put a quart jar up front and every time, we judged someone during the class we had to drop a penny in the jar. God has dealt with me strongly not to forget where I came from and not to judge others. In the same manner you judge others, you will be judged. (Matthew 7:2) Everyone has sinned and come short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23) Once we repent all sins, they are under the blood and you are forgiven. (1 John 1:9, Psalms 103:12) It’s important to forgive yourself of all the mistakes you have made then move forward. (Colossians 3:13) Stop, put your name in the blank and say “____ I forgive you for the mistakes you have made, the same as Christ has forgiven you. I love you!” Say it over and over again looking in the mirror until you have forgiven yourself. Jesus loves you, died and rose again just for you!
Never forget where you came from, turn around, start judging others and become self-righteous. Many self-righteous believers forget they were once a sinner and judge others. I was raised in a charismatic Pentecostal Church with lots of rules to abide by. I couldn’t wear pants, shorts, cut my hair, wear makeup, and we couldn’t own a TV, etc. When I grew up, I became a Baptist and the one thing I can say, is they teach the Word. Years later we moved to another city and began searching for a new church. One Sunday my daughter and I decided to visit a large, Pentecostal Church. I was amazed, ‘No one greeted us, the men wouldn’t look at us and the women would not speak to us.’ The sermon that morning was about not wearing makeup and having your hair cut. Guess who had on makeup and had short hair! You got it, me! At the end of the service, my daughter Karen and I felt very unwelcome and left. I guess they thought I was a rank sinner, however, looks can be deceiving. People look at the outer appearance, but God looks at your heart. (1 Samuel 16:&) What people didn’t know, ‘I was on fire for God!’ A prime example of self-righteousness! Jesus always hung out with the sinners and was judged by the Pharisees for it! (Matthew 9:9-10, Luke 7:36)
I have a niece who lived a lifestyle of homosexuality for more than twenty years. I have studied, and know anyone who chooses to live that lifestyle, has been deeply wounded by the opposite sex and turn to the same sex. I have studied root issues for many years and know the root issue is rejection. The Holy Spirit spoke to me a long time ago and said, ‘love the sinner and hate the sin. (1 John 4:8-10) Love covers a multitude of sin!’ (1 Peter 4:8) It is the LOVE of Christ that draws people to repentance! (Romans 2:1-8) If you judge, there is no room to love. Almost every family member disowned my niece, however I did not. I walked in love, put her picture on my prayer altar and prayed for my niece for over twenty years. There were times she was out there with it and I had to turn my head and look the other way. I was not moved by what I saw, I walked by faith and not by sight, (2 Corinthians 5:7) calling those things that be not in her life as though there were. (Romans 4:17) Two years ago, I received a message from my niece which said, ‘Nana Judy, I wanted you to be the first to know I have gone back to church, given my life to Christ and I have committed my life to serving Christ the rest of my life. You have loved me and prayed for me when most of the family turned their back on me. I love you!’ What a wonderful text message. Tears of joy! You can read this miraculous amazing story in my book, ‘Supernatural Interventions at www.judybrooks.org!’ We talked and she shared with me what happened that led her to turning her life around! She is a miracle walking in shoe leather all because of the power of prayer and getting in agreement with God and His Word. Will you agree with God?
