What Is Your Dream?
My child; think about this… What is your dream? Does it appear that it has died? Today I want to give you hope – that dream is not dead! I gave you the dream and I will bring the dream forth at the appointed time. It’s not too far off in your future. (Habakkuk 2:2-3) Between the dream and its fulfillment, there will be many tests along the way. Joseph was Jacob’s favored child. (Genesis 48:8-11)
There are many things you can learn from My servant Joseph:
1. He had a dream, and he never lost sight of the vision no matter what adversity he experienced.
2. Be careful with whom you tell your dream. He told his family his dream and his brothers were jealous and did everything they could to stop him.
3.God gave him great favor because he kept his heart pure.
4.He kept his mouth shut, never trying to defend himself.
5. He served others and did it with excellence.
6. Everyone has to go through the ‘Season of Preparation’ and you can’t take shortcuts.
7. Though he was hated by his family – he forgave his brothers and fed them during the time of famine.
8. He learned to be patient and wait. He passed the faith test.
9. He learned to endure to the end and He determined to remain focused on the main thing, the vision I gave Him.
Joseph shared his dream with the wrong people; his family. It angered his brothers and they sold him into slavery for two coins each and they convinced Jacob their father Joseph was dead. (Genesis 37:18-20) It cost Joseph and it will cost you! He faced many trials and challenges before his vision became visible. He was thrown in a pit, sold into slavery. He ended up at Potiphar’s house, falsely accused, and ended up in prison (innocent) for thirteen long years. (Genesis 39:1-21) He was rejected, abandoned, betrayed, and all alone. During these years, God built his character for the position he would one day hold. There were a lot of things in Joseph’s flesh he had to die too such as pride, ego, and patience. He decided if he was going to be in prison, he was going to be the best prisoner they had. The dream looked dead but was fully alive and at work in him.

Does it seem the dream I gave you has died through all the mess you have walked through during the course of your life? I will resurrect it! I have just been fertilizing you – preparing you for a greater purpose. The ‘Preparation Season’ can be long, but you can’t take shortcuts. (Hebrews 10:36) Your dream is not your dream – it’s My dream and I will fulfill it! Remember I am doing a NEW thing – Do You Not Perceive It and Know It? (Isaiah 43:18-19) Begin to declare your rightful position as a blood-bought child of the Most-High God! I am breathing life NOW into your dream. Look beyond the horizons – do you see it? Do you see your dream coming? Get up out of your circumstances and move out into the horizon beyond what you can see! Take the limits off Me!

It appeared as if Joseph’s critics were right. With an unearned criminal record, he was promoted because he remained steadfast and confident that I gave him his dream! With enough baggage to derail a freight train, he remained focused without dwelling on the challenges he faced. Joseph maintained a ‘Dream-Focus’ – it was his salvation! Are you focusing on the situation you are facing or are you ‘Dream-Focused?’ Then suddenly, in a day he was promoted to second in command in the nation of Egypt. (Genesis 41:1-45)
Joseph’s brothers ended up at his steps. They had to go to Jacob and tell him that his son was alive. What convinced Jacob that Joseph was alive was in the middle of a famine – He saw wagon loads full of provisions coming to his house and he believed it! (Genesis 45:27) Do you believe it? Joseph was a son, but he became a provider! When Joseph left, he was eating at Jacob’s table – but when he came back Jacob was eating at Joseph’s table. Reclaim your resurrected dream today – this very hour! For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, ‘They are plans for good and not for evil, for a future and to give you hope. (Jeremiah 29:11 NIV) What is your dream? Please share it with me to pray over.
