Wisdom with Money
My child, it may seem strange to learn that I, the Lord your God, care about money. Why I talked about it 2350 times in scriptures in the Bible – It must be important to Me and should be important to you. Though I am not subject to money, I know that you are – at least while you are living here in this world, it requires money to live. However, you are not of this world – because it is I the Lord your God who gives you the power to get wealth! (Deuteronomy 8:18) Money is not the root of evil; no! It’s the LOVE of MONEY that is the root of all – evil! (1 Timothy 6:9-11) If you fully obey the LORD your God and carefully follow all his commands. If you give, the LORD your God will set you high above all the nations on earth. All these blessings will come upon you and accompany you if you obey the LORD your God. (Deuteronomy 28:1-2). My Word has good instruction about staying out of debt, tithing, and saving. I give simple instruction in My Word on how money is to be used:
1. You must first give before you receive. (Luke 6:38)
2. Be a cheerful and joyful giver. (2 Corinthians 9:7 NLT)
3. Bless others who are in need.
(Proverbs 19:17, Romans 12:13)
4. Help widows and orphans. (James 1:27, Isaiah 1:17)
5. Single mothers raising their children without the help of their dad or the father is deceased. (Deuteronomy 24:19-21)
6. Homeless or those who are struggling and downtrodden. (Isaiah 58:17)
7. Give your tithes and offerings (this is a seed) sow into good fertile soil by giving to the support of My work to spread the Good News. (Malachi 3:8-11)
8. Save and invest (a good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children.) (Proverbs 13:22)
Being wise with money (not a spendthrift) is My vote for your future. Stay away from get-rich-quick schemes! Wealth from get-rich-quick schemes quickly disappears; wealth from hard work grows over time. (Proverbs 13:11) These are patterns you should put into practice in your life for My Blessing. I describe these blessings as ‘overflow blessings,’ and I invite you to test Me and see if I will prove Myself!
Pray with me:
Father, I ask you to give me wisdom using money and help me be wise – not going into debt. Forgive me for the times I have sown in soil that was not good soil. I did not reap a harvest. Now I know where to sow because I look for fruit. Your Word says you will know them by their fruit. (Matthew 7:16) If there is no fruit, I am not to sow. I know I am to lend and not borrow. (Deuteronomy 28:12) Thank you for helping me to make wise decisions in my finances in Jesus’ mighty matchless name. Amen.
