Faith’s Ladder
May God give you more and more grace and peace as you grow in your knowledge of God and Jesus our Lord. (2 Peter 1:2 NLT)
Beloved one, through knowledge, grace, and peace, my precious child is multiplied, but your faith must become strong first through the righteousness of God. (2 Peter 1:2) As you grow and mature in the Word and fellowship with Christ, righteousness or right standing with God comes first, then knowledge comes second. God builds our character through holiness. You can’t expect any revelation from God without holiness. Holiness opens the doors to all the treasures of God. Everything you could ever need for life and complete devotion to God has already been deposited in you by His divine power. You already have everything you need to complete your purpose by getting to knowing Christ Jesus personally, intimately, and having fellowship with Him daily! That’s how you please God. It was deposited in you when you accepted Christ Jesus as your Savior! (2 Peter 1:3) First, God brings you to a place where you, like our Lord – love righteousness and hate lawlessness. (Hebrews 1:9) You have been given beautiful promises to pass on to others. Your ticket to participate in the life of God after you turned your back on a world corrupted by lust. (2 Peter 1:3-4 Message)
If you had not confessed the sin in your heart, the Lord would not have listened. (Psalms 66:18 NLT) So, don’t lose a minute in building on what you have been given:
1. increasing your faith with good character
2. spiritual understanding
3. alert discipline,
4. add self-control
5. patient endurance
6. reverent godliness
7. add mercy toward others
8. unending love
Each dimension is fitting into and developing others. With these qualities active and growing in your life, no grass will grow under your feet! No day will pass without its reward as you mature in your experience with our Master and Savior Jesus. If you lack these things, you are blind, always closing your eyes to the mysteries of faith and forgetting Christ’s innocence in dying for your sins. (2 Peter 1:5-9) Repent of your sins, and the scales will be removed from your eyes so you can see the truth. It is the truth that sets you free! (John 8:32) Real-life is hidden in Christ! When the Lord Jesus is revealed to the world, you will share all His glory. (Colossians 3:3-4) So, make every effort to confirm your calling and election. For if you do these things, you will never stumble, and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. (2 Peter 1:10-11) Be firmly established in the truth. Christ Jesus, our King, is coming in power! (1 Peter 1:12-16) What a privileged once you are born-again of Christ Jesus – He has this hidden place for you. There is a hidden place in the Father where Satan cannot touch you, but you must dwell in the Secret Place of the Most-High God and abide under the shadow of the Almighty. (Psalms 91:1)
