Pray and Don’t Lose Faith
Then the Lord said, “Learn a lesson from this unjust judge. Even he rendered a just decision in the end. So, don’t you think God will surely give justice to his chosen people who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? I tell you, he will grant justice to them quickly! (Luke 18:6-8 NLT)
My beloved child, you ought to pray and never give up! (Luke 18:1 NLT) Have you prayed and stood for a long time, and you are still waiting for the answer? Prayer is not a way of persuading God to do what you want. It is a process of recognizing His power and plan for your life. In prayer, lay your circumstances on the altar at the feet of Jesus. Yield to His plan and trust Him to act in His time and in His way.
Jesus spoke in parables, and He told His disciples, “There was a judge in a certain city,” he said, “whom neither feared God nor cared about people. A widow of that city came to him repeatedly, saying, ‘Give me justice in this dispute with my enemy.’ The judge ignored her for a while, but finally, he said to himself, ‘I don’t fear God or care about people, but this woman is driving me crazy. I’m going to see that she gets justice because she is wearing me out with her constant requests!'”
Then the Lord said, “Learn a lesson from this unjust judge. Even he rendered a just decision in the end. So, don’t you think God will surely give justice to his chosen people who cry out to him day and night? Will He keep putting them off? I tell you He will grant justice to them quickly! But when the Son of Man returns, how many will He find on the earth who have faith?” (Luke 18:2-8 NLT)
Make sure your prayers line up with God’s Word, then ask away. This is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him. (1 John 5:14-15 NKJV) Then rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 NKJV) “Jesus spoke a parable to His disciples and said, “men always ought to pray and not lose heart.” He was saying, “The woman He described never stopped asking.” At the appointed time your prayers will be answered! Don’t give up and don’t lose faith!
