Courage and Boldness
My child, if you want to do great things for Me, it will require faith. Faith is the confident trust in Me – you believe that what you do not see will actually happen. (Hebrews 11:1) How do you get that kind of faith? (Hebrews 11:32-33) By hearing the Word of God. (Romans 10:17) Faith comes by hearing, so it’s essential to use your senses, sight, and sound to have great faith. As you read the Word, read it out loud, and you will have a double impact.
Deborah, the wife of Lappidoth, was a judge, intercessor over all Israel, prophetess who had great discernment and could hear the voice of God. She walked in confident boldness when she listened to the voice of God. Deborah was known for hearing the voice of God, keen discernment, and all Israel wanted her to judge their court cases because she judged rightly. She sat under a palm tree in Ephraim’s hill country, and people in long lines for her to judge their cases. (Judges 4:4-5)
Barak was a man of faith and a military leader during Deborah’s reign as a judge of Israel. He was a courageous leader and is in the Hall of Fame in Hebrews 11. Barak united warriors from the tribe of Israel and led them to victory over their Canaanite enemies. As courageous as he was, he had a moment! Have you ever had a moment where you doubted? Doubt will cause you to lose the full blessing I have for you! In the end, he had enough faith to do what I asked Him to do, but it was under one condition, and that was that Deborah, Judge over Israel, went with him. (Judges 4:8) That was not My plan. I desire or you to place your trust in Me alone – not in people! She was a woman of God, a prophet, and an intercessor over all Israel in addition to being a judge, but that was not what I asked Barak to do. (Judges 4:4-7)
Barak respected Deborah’s authority, which set him apart from most – he honored her as a leader even though she was a woman. She agreed to go with Barak but told him clearly, ‘you will not get the credit for this!’ (Judges 4:8-9) They went to battle, and Deborah told him: “Charge! This very day God has given you victory over Sisera. Isn’t God marching before you?” I rerouted Sisera and his troops. (Judges 4:14) Running for his life, Sisera headed for Jael’s tent, wife of Heber the Kenite, because he and King Jabin were on good terms. Jael stepped out to meet Sisera and said, “Come in, sir. Stay here with me. Don’t be afraid.” So, he went with her into her tent. She covered him with a blanket, and he fell asleep. While he was sleeping, Jael drove a stake through his temple, and he died. (Judges 4:21-22) Though Barak and his troops fought the battle, Jael took out the leader and received credit for the victory. (Judges 4:17-21) Trust Me and have faith in Me, then you will receive the full blessing I have for you!
Today Deborah’s and Lappidoth’s are arising, and the Holy Spirit is promoting them. Lappidoth was comfortable in his skin; he knew who he was in Christ and was not intimidated or jealous because of her position. He supported his wife as a judge and prophetess. Lappidoth carried the torch for Deborah; they were a team. Get ready for you will see husband and wife teams arising in their rightful positions as Kingdom Builders in this hour!
