Prayer Secrets
Precious one, how often do you spend designated time with God? I encourage you to set a time every morning to pray and talk to the Father. It doesn’t have to be a long time. It’s essential to have dedicated time with Him. When you wake up in the mornings, who is the first person you talk to? Make Jesus the first one you talk to! Every morning when I am waking up and before my feet hit the floor, I whisper, ‘Father God, I love you – thank You so much for Your great love, all You have done and all you are doing in my life. Jesus, I love You; thank You for taking the stripes upon your back for my healing and wholeness in every area of my life and for the great price You have paid for me on the cross. Thank you for interceding for my family and me today. Holy Spirit, I love you so much; thank you for being present with me everywhere I go, and in all that I do. Thank you for giving me divine favor ever where I go! I couldn’t make it one second without you.’ I know all three of You are One – but I have to say thank you, and I love You! (1 John 5:7) There are three that bear record in Heaven, the Father, the Word (Son), and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. Jesus said the Father and I are one. (John 10:30-38)
1.Pray and fellowship with God every day.
Talk to God, then listen to what God has to say to you. He has more to say to you than you have to say to Him. Take five to fifteen minutes to listen to what He wants to tell you. Document what the Father tells you in a Prayer Journal. There are two unforgettable disciples, Peter and John, who kept their prayer time with God consistently. (Acts 3:1) Daniel prayed three times a day. (Daniel 6:10-28) The Psalmist David prayed seven times a day. (Psalms 119:164) The reason David was a man after God’s own heart is, he fellowshipped with God daily; he was quick to repent and quick to obey. Enoch talked with God every day. He spent time with God and fellowshipped with Him. One day his fellowship with God was so sweet, he was closer to Heaven than home, and he just walked right in Heaven. (Genesis 5:21-24) Abraham, Jacob, Isaac, Noah, and many others fellowshipped with God, and God used them to extraordinary things in the Kingdom of God.
2. Prayer Breaks.
Throughout my day, as I am about my Father’s business or even on your job, I stop and pray. Pray in the Spirit at all times, with every kind of prayer and petition. To this end, stay alert with all perseverance in your prayers for all the saints. (Ephesians 6:18) When I was Real Estate Consultant, I would take a 5-minute prayer break – I would go to the bathroom and pray. When things are challenging, I stop and take a 5-minute prayer break throughout my day. When I lose something, I stop and take a prayer break. Amazing! Holy Spirit knows right where it is! He always directs me to find it when I pray, and He will do the same for you. (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18) Throughout the day, as the Holy Spirit prompts me, I stop and pray in the Spirit. Why? You, beloved, build up yourselves in your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost. (Jude 1:20) Being led by the Holy Spirit, I listen closely to His still small voice. You make appointments to see a doctor, attorney, even your friends. Start today, setting a time to talk to Jesus and listen. Document what He says to you. You will grow leaps and bounds and stay excited about serving Christ!
