Chores or Assignments
“‘He who overcomes will thus be clothed in white garments; and I will not erase his name from the book of life, and I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels.” (Revelations 3:5 NASB)
My beloved child, anyone can do chores, but assignments are different – they are the plans and purposes of your destiny. (Psalms 33:11) I want to repeat this, ‘chores can be done by anyone, but you were created to focus only on your assignment written in your book of Life! (Revelation 3:5, 13:8, 17:8, 20:12–15) What do you spend the most time doing – chores or your assignment?
He knew all about you before you were born, and He destined you from the beginning to share the likeness of His Son. (Ephesians 1:5) What does that mean? It means the Son is the oldest among a vast family of brothers and sisters who will become just like Him. Having determined our destiny ahead of time, He called us to himself and transferred His perfect righteousness to everyone He called. And those who possess His perfect righteousness (right standing with God). He co-glorified with His Son! Whom He justifies is also glorified. (Romans 8:29-30) To be called means summoned to appear before the Courts of Heaven to bring forth your testimony. You are called to take your place on earth as it is in Heaven. You are to establish Heaven on earth as it is in Heaven. It involves a complete and total yielding until you look like Jesus, so the enemy finds no fault with you and no sin in you. (Galatians 5:16-26)
Each person has a specific assignment to be here on this earth. Esther’s assignment was to save God’s people.
1. God has a plan for your life. (Jeremiah 29:11-13) Mordecai nailed it when he said to Esther, “For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. (I believe that is true today) Who knows but that you have come to the royal palace for such a time as this.” (Esther 4:14-15 NIV). God loved the Jewish people. And, he didn’t create Esther’s beauty and gracefulness for her and her alone. Esther was placed in a royal position to assist in the delivery of God’s divine plan.
2. You are given divine moments to shift the circumstances around you. As a believer, there is no such thing as an accident or coincidence. God’s timing with everything is preordained. Esther’s assignment began the moment she accepted her responsibility to go to the king. However, her uncle Mordecai was clear when he said to Esther that she could be the one who saved the people, or not. God will use you only if you’re ready—or he will find someone else.
3. You must stand with faith and courage. Fear has no place in your life! When you are given a divine opportunity to change destiny, not just for yourself but also for others – don’t allow a spirit of fear to come upon you. The devil wants to stop you, but he can’t! Esther said, “I will go to the king, even though it is against the law. And if I perish, I perish. (Esther 4:16) She was willing to die to save her people. Are you willing to die to complete your assignment? Sometimes you must stand in faith and courage, even when you have to risk it all!
4. Fasting and prayer brings clarity and hope to deliver you from your present situation.
God is not mentioned one time in the Book of Esther, but His handprint is all over it. Esther made it clear to Mordecai that she needed instruction and direction from God; her life depended on it. When you need God’s grace in situations of Life, fasting and praying opens portals in Heaven. You are given the opportunity to humble yourself before Almighty God in repentance, grow spiritually, remove distractions, and entirely focus on God’s plan.
(2 Chronicles 7:14)
5. God demands obedience. Obedience is better than sacrifice. (1 Samuel 15:22) Esther’s obedience saved God’s people from being beheaded. In reality, she didn’t know what would happen when she approached the king, her husband. It was against the law to approach the king without an invitation, and if you did, the consequences would be death. Esther acted in obedience, and by doing so, she saved a nation and received God’s best. No one gets a pass on being obedient to God.
6. God uses everything and everyone for His divine plans and purposes. There is not an area of your Life that goes untouched. God is in control of every area of your life, whether we want Him to be or not, and there is nothing that is not subject to Him. (Hebrews 2:8) The best thing each one can do is pursue God’s plan and yield to it. I didn’t say surrender; I said yield! Surrender is a military term, and it means to cease resistance to an enemy or opponent and submit to their authority. God desires for you to willingly and joyfully yield to His plans and purposes for your Life!
Consistently staying focused on your God-given assignment will lead to many surprises of blessings! Are you focused on doing chores or your assignment? Anyone can do chores, but only you can focus on your assignment!
