Benefits of Self-Discipline
I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others, I might be disqualified. (1 Corinthians 9:27 NLT)

My precious child, no one likes to talk about self-discipline. When raising children, we know the importance of discipline them, ‘train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is OLD, he will not depart from it.’ (Proverbs 22:6) As adults we don’t want to address self-discipline because it means we have to discuss bad choices we’ve made. 1. Self-discipline prepares us for the future. “If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones. However, if you are dishonest in little things, you won’t be honest with greater responsibilities.” (Luke 16:10) If you don’t have self-discipline, you will become a slave to what controls you, such as ‘food, alcohol, drugs, sex, lust, money, idol worship, your words’ then find yourself overwhelmed by the consequences of a lack of self-discipline. The results of sin are death. (Romans 6:23) Obedience to the Holy Spirit and the Word of God brings blessings and success. Godliness is the purpose of self-discipline, physical training is good, but training for godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and in the life to come.” (1 Timothy 4:8) We are instructed to be holy as God is holy. (1 Peter 1:16) As a believer, the Holy Spirit convicts your heart when you do wrong so you can repent and allow Him to create a clean heart in you and renew a right spirit within. (Psalms 51:10, John 16:7-8) When you refuse to repent you, sin can catapult you into deeper sin. “But your sins have made a separation between you and your God.” (Isaiah 59:2a) Being separated from God is the most significant consequence of sin. Every sin is an offense to God, and God cannot be in the presence of sin. The Holy Spirit will stop speaking to you if you do not repent. (1 Thessalonians 5:19) His presence will exit your life.
2. Self-discipline keeps us healthy. Paul said, “I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others, I myself might be disqualified” (1 Corinthians 9:27) Overeating has consequences; you will become overweight, which will ultimately affect your health. If you drink or do drugs – you are risking becoming an alcoholic or drug addict. Are you having sex outside of marriage, or are you committing adultery? Do you struggle with pornography? Are you cursing yourself with your words? What sin is your greatest struggle? If there is a generational curse that has come down through the bloodline, you will not be exempt from it. The curse must be broken, then commit to obeying God’s commands, then you will walk in blessings. Don’t play around with sin. When you mess with fire, you will get burned! Look at this scripture, ‘God has not given you a spirit of fear, (anxiety or panic) – He has given you power, love and ‘self-discipline.’ (2 Timothy 1:7) What areas of your life can you pinpoint that you need to repent and ask God to forgive you so you can start today with a clean slate? Ask God to create in you a clean heart and renew a right spirit within. (Psalms 51:10) Repent, lay your sins, on the altar at the feet of Jesus, forgive yourself, and give you a New Beginning! Start today, renewing your mind by meditating on the Word of God day and night. So you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do. (Joshua 1:8) Study scriptures continually. The Holy Spirit will empower you to say ‘NO’ to sin! Self- discipline is the foundation for living a life of righteousness and selflessness that reflects Jesus and brings glory to God. 3. Self-discipline increases your focus and productivity. “Lazy people want much but get little, but those who work hard will prosper.” (Proverbs 13:14) The Bible is a book of instruction to help you prosper in life. Self-discipline unlocks God’s will in your life!

My Daily Declarations
Pray this out loud over your day:
Father God, I come boldly before your throne (Hebrews 4:16) and I thank you for this beautiful day You have made, I will rejoice and be glad in it! (Psalms 118:24) I dedicate this day to You! I declare and decree on the authority of the Word of God I am healthy, I am wealthy in every area of my life, and I am wise beyond my years. I have great discernment and receive revelation as I study the Word of God.
I boldly confess I am loved, called and chosen. I am rich in every way and generous on every occasion. I am anointed, appointed, equipped and enabled by the power of the Holy Spirit that works mightily within me.
I declare I believe God’s Word is true and I am who God’s Word says I am, I can have what God’s Word says I have. I can do what God’s Word says I can do. I am rich in every way and generous on every occasion. I am the child of a King, therefore I will not leave home without wearing my invisible crown.
I declare and decree I am anointed, appointed, equipped and enabled by the Power of God who works, mightily in Me. I am a carrier of the fire of the Holy Ghost igniting the flame in others, everywhere I go.
I am healed and whole in every area of my life. God has called me to be a healer and deliverer to set His people free from every form of earthly bondage. He has chosen me to pull leaders up, push them out and position them for their purpose and calling as Jesus did.
I declare and decree on the authority of the Word of God I am favored, I have favor with both God and man in all I do in Jesus name. I am blessed and highly favored of the Lord. (Proverbs 3:3-4)
I declare and decree that No weapon formed against my family and I can prosper or succeed and every tongue that (speaks against) rises up against us in judgement we condemn it, for this is the heritage of the children of the Most High God. (Isaiah 54:17) I declare and decree that me and my house shall be saved, every single member of my family, not one member of my family will perish in Jesus name. I release them now to the Father and I trust you Father God with them. (Acts 6:31)
I walk by faith and not by sight. (2 Corinthians 5:7) I trust God with everything that goes on in my life and with each member of my family because God is at work turning all things around for my good and His glory because I love Him. (Romans 8:28)
I declare and decree I live, breathe, move and serve powerfully under the shelter of the Jehovah Yahweh. (Psalms 91)
There is no lack in Heaven, I remove every block and hinderance releasing all the resources with my name on it. I say laborers come forth to help me build the Kingdom of God therefore it is established in Jesus name. (Matthew 9:35-38)
I have entered the ‘Rest of God’ and I am staying in that peaceful place and I declare I will not allow the enemy to rock my world.(Hebrews 4:1-16) Peace belongs to me because I am a blood bought daughter of a King, therefore I trust you Abba Father. I value and sense Your presence today Father. The Holy Spirit lives within me, He goes before me, walks beside me and He is my rear guard. (Isaiah 58:8, Isaiah 52:12) You O’ Lord order my steps and my stops. (Psalms 37:23)
I declare divine spiritual order in my home, body, life and family. I am renewing my mind daily, disciplining myself by washing it with the Word. I guard my heart for out of me flows a well spring of life not the issues of life because I am healed and whole in every area of my life because You O’ Lord are the CEO and President of my life. I declare divine protection and restoration over my family and I today. Divine appointments are happening every where I go.
I seal my declarations with the Blood of Jesus, the Word of God and the Holy Spirit which empowers me therefore it is established this day in the Holy Righteous name of Jesus. Amen.
Copy these daily declarations and use them then watch how Abba Father blesses your 2020!
